On Location: Dillon - the bar

For the shoot at the bar, we showed up on a Thursday night after the bar had closed - about 4 am. Maria Kristin and I then set about making the bar look like it was just hitting bar close - placing empty beer bottles around outside, and generally messing things up. Once the extras started to arrive their general drunkeness gave a great deal of reality to the scene.

Once inside the bar, it became a process of trying to keep the extras and get the place looking right. Most of the extras were friends of the cast and crew in some way - early in the shoot - but once it bacame day those drunk from the night before began to fade off to be replaced by folks recruited on the the street. We kept them happy with beer, snacks, and in seeing each shot develop.
