An Experiment in what would happen if...

I've been taking a bunch of glass courses in different techniques in preparation for this summer. Recently I was taking a mold blowing course, and was making molds of cabbages in hopes of creating a glass cabbage.

The work of carving the cabbages to make the molds then peeling out the plant to make way for the glass made me ask what might happen if I reversed the process - carved the cabbage to be the mold itself.

Watching the cabbage become amazing filigreed wings of carbon was wonderful - a performance of a kind.
